I don’t know about you, but there’ve been numerous times along my spiritual path where it’s felt like I wasn’t doing enough or growing fast enough.
Like the summer of 2018, when I journeyed for three days with Mama Ayahuasca, attended 3 transformational festivals including Oregon eclipse, quit my job as a nurse to travel the world for a year beginning that Fall. And still…I felt like I wasn’t “waking up” like “I should have been.”
Now, I’m not saying that none of those things contributed to my spiritual growth. Quite the contrary.
The experience of being enveloped by unity conscious alone?…🤯
But what I noticed along the way and continue to observe now, is that it’s less about doing and more about being. Sloooooooowing down and witnessing myself.
The doing/getting mentality can make for a very heavy and painful spiritual experience. Go there, buy that, get this. Grasping outward, searching. You know that feeling that you’re processing all the time?
Or those thoughts about how everyone else seems to have it figured out because, well… how else would they be having all of those fucking kundalini awakening experiences? 🙄
Yeah…doing/getting mentality largely responsible.
The path of spiritual growth doesn’t have to be such a rough ride though. I’ve noticed that there’s one mental conditioning in particular that tends to get in the way of having a more robust, more dynamic, richer experience along the path.
I talk about that conditioning in the video below.
Once I started noticing it, I began to trust that where I was on the path was exactly perfect and where I needed to be.
I hope taking a deeper look at this in yourself will help you have a little more fun, joy, and pleasure while doing the work. Maybe even laugh a little.
